It is requested that PROFEPA intervenes to expedite the studies of the vital liquid. If the problem continues, it will be necessary to dig a new sewage well, according to ODAPAS.

A month after the neighbors of Tic-Tic in Atlacomulco denounced the contamination of the sewage well that supplies five neighborhoods, and after it began to drain, the management of the Public Agency for the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewage and Sanitation Services of the municipality, informed that it is awaiting the results issued by CONAGUA, after applying an analysis to determine the levels of contamination of the vital liquid.

In this sense, it was ratified that the intervention of the General Coordination of Civil Protection and Integral Risk Management of the State Government and PROFEPA has been requested to speed up these studies and to verify the conditions in which the PEMEX pipelines near the well operate since they are the main cause of the contamination, which is worsening and endangering the health of the inhabitants of the neighborhoods of Río Lerma, Vista Hermosa, Colinas de Santa Cruz, and Nueva España.

It was announced that if the problem continues, it will be necessary to dig a new well to supply the residents of these areas with vital liquid while cleaning activities continue in the contaminated well, as well as the daily release of drinking water.
